The visit will take place on the invitation of President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan.
Upon completion of the bilateral visit programme, the Russian President will participate in an informal meeting of the leaders of the Collective Security Treaty member states.

Russian defense spending will increase by 1,5 times in the next few years – a hefty sum that President Dmitry Medvedev said should add substantially to modernizing the Russian Armed Forces. ‘The main thing is to refrain from misspending the money,’ the Russian leader warned.
He was echoed by Igor Korotchenko, editor-in-chief of the National Defense magazine, who pointed to the importance of updating the Army. In this regard, Russia’s upcoming military spending will be unprecedented, Korotchenko explained.

Moldovan Prime Minister Vlad Filat has said he is confident that he could be a competent president.
"I am frequently asked questions about the presidential election. But first of all we need to implement constitutional reforms in order to enable our citizens to elect the head of state through direct elections. Our citizens themselves will make this decision during the upcoming constitutional referendum on September 5," Filat said at a meeting with residents of the city of Straseni in central Moldova on Monday.

Le contrat de livraison de systèmes antiaériens S-300 à l'Iran n'a pas été résilié par Moscou, a déclaré aux journalistes le PDG du conglomérat public russe Rostekhnologuii, Sergueï Tchemezov. A la question de savoir si la Russie respecterait ses engagements envers Téhéran, il a répondu que "la décision devait être prise par le président lui-même". "Le contrat n'a pas été annulé jusqu'à présent", a souligné M.Tchemezov.
