MedvedevErdoganRussia and Turkey on Wednesday signed a joint statement regarding plans to build a nuclear power plant on Turkish soil.
The document was signed by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Igor Sechin, who is in charge of the energy and fuel sector, and his Turkish counterpart.
Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, currently on a visit to Moscow, said his country was completing preparations for the signing of a formal agreement on the construction of a nuclear power plant on its territory.

Putin_MesicOutgoing Croatian President Stjepan Mesic could become head of a company to build Croatia's segment of the South Stream gas pipeline, if Zagreb joins the project, Croatian newspaper Jutarnji List reported on Sunday.

Mesic received the proposal when he visited Moscow in mid-December to discuss joint energy projects, the paper said.

"Russia would like to see the leading positions in the South Stream and Nord Stream gas pipelines to be held by former high-placed officials of the countries, across which these pipelines will pass," the paper said.

gazpromRussia's Gazprom confirmed on Thursday that it had received payment in full for December's gas deliveries to Ukraine.

On Wednesday, Ukrainian Energy Minister Yuriy Prodan pledged the former Soviet republic would pay on schedule $892 million for Russian gas supplied in December.

However, President Viktor Yushchenko had earlier said Ukrainian national energy company Naftogaz lacked the funds to pay and ordered Vladimir Stelmakh, head of Ukraine's National Bank, to resolve the problem.

gaze_copyLes fournitures de gaz turkmène vers la Russie, interrompues en avril 2009 à la suite d'un accident survenu sur le tronçon turkmène de la conduite SATS-4, ont repris samedi, à 07h35 GMT, en vertu d'un accord passé fin décembre 2009 entre les deux parties, a annoncé le porte-parole du holding gazier russe Gazprom.

"Aujourd'hui à 10h35 heure de Moscou (7h35 GMT), Gazprom a commencé à recevoir du gaz turkmène", a déclaré l'interlocuteur de l'agence.

iuscenko1Le président ukrainien Viktor Iouchtchenko a déclaré que le groupe Naftogaz Ukraine n'avait pas les ressources nécessaires pour payer le gaz russe livré en décembre, a annoncé le service de presse présidentiel, ajoutant que le chef de l'Etat avait demandé au PDG de la Banque nationale Vladimir Stelmakh de trouver une solution à ce problème.
