The Russian President expressed his condolences following the natural disasters in China, solidarity with the Chinese people and readiness to provide assistance, if necessary.
The President of China said he was touched and very grateful for this expression of friendly support. In turn, he said Chinese people followed the situation with the wildfires in the Russian Federation with keen interest and concern and noted with satisfaction that the Russian leadership was coping successfully with these natural disasters.

Russia will lift a ban on poultry imports from 68 U.S. companies whose production processes meet Russian requirements and will leave a ban on the production of the remaining 19 that have not met the country's sanitation demands, Agriculture Ministry spokesman Oleg Aksyonov said on Monday.
U.S. poultry accounted for almost 80% of poultry imports to Russia. The U.S. import quota amounts to 600,000 tons in 2010.

Russia's severe drought may cut its grain output by 40 percent this year, a leading analyst said Monday, as the country's weather service forecast short-lived rains in some areas that could help planting for next year.
Agricultural analyst SovEcon said it cut its 2010 grain crop forecast to 59.5 million to 63.5 million metric tons from a previous forecast of 70 million to 75 million metric tons, a day after Russia's first grain export ban in 11 years had kicked in.

Russian tycoon Suleiman Kerimov and the new shareholders of Russia's largest potash chloride producer Silvinit could join forces to create a potash giant, business paper Vedomosti reported on Monday.
Silvinit said on August 14 that 20% of its shares had been bought by Fenguard Ltd., a company owned by Russian businessman Anatoly Skurov, and another 24% by Forman Commercial Ltd., a firm controlled by Russian lawmaker Zelimkhan Mutsoyev, the paper said, adding that market participants estimated the deal at about $3 billion.
